Application of Filter Press in Hydrocolloid Production
For a long time, carrageenan and agar were constrained by their hydrophilic properties during the dewatering process, where producers would stack the colloids in woven bags and then compress them for extended periods using stones or hydraulic press. This primitive dewatering type is inefficient, requires a large amount of manual labor, has a poor production environment and the product quality is also difficult to control.
